encourage Cracker Barrel to remove the offensive and derogatory term "Cracker" from the name of the company.

We live in a society of political correctness and a society where we aim to be civil and unoffensive to each other. We've tabooed several words from our lexicon like the "N-word" to describe African Americans and the "R-word" to describe the disabled. The Washington Redskins may even be changing their name because the term "Redskin" is offensive to Native Americans. We applaud all of these efforts. There is another word that is offensive that has not been addressed and that word is "cracker." Somehow, when a white person is called a derogatory name based on their race, there is, for some reason, a silent acceptance of this term. We petition the White House to address this issue and to start by encouraging the restaurant "Cracker Barrel" to remove the derogatory word from its name.
