America has the ability to cure diseases and create exciting new technology. This cannot be accomplished without the continued support of scientific research grants. The nation’s research laboratories find themselves unfunded despite the high merits of their proposals- it’s just too competitive as the grants are just too few.
Research staff find themselves in the perilous position of working in a laboratory without funding and are being asked to find work elsewhere. This sends a discouraging message to students who aspire to work in these fields.
How many critical discoveries is the Government willing to risk as the important task of finding a working budget is being debated? Support America’s scientists and encourage Government agencies to not further cut funding for research grants.
