- Easier to control/contain
Main Writing
Thorium reactors have a greater yield than those that use uranium.
Thorium is also more plentiful on the planet than uranium and often found in greater concentrations.
This greater supply, in addition to providing more fuel, will help to compensate for a greater reactor construction cost and lower environmental impact because of greater ease extracting the fuel.
Building on these benefits, it is much more difficult for thorium to be weaponized, easier to dispose of in an environmentally friendly way, and easier to control and contain in the unlikely event of a meltdown.
