Three bills have went into the Kansas legislation about Cannabis Legalization, All three have never seen a floor hearing.
Colorado, the next door neighbor of Kansas has already passed limited recreational usage of the crop. And its state laws will interfere between the two states who share the same border.
Current Kansas laws regarding Cannabis: (1st Offense)
Possession: Class B Misdemeanor (1 Year incarceration and up to $1000 in fines.)
Sales and Distribution: Felony (1-5 Years incarceration and up to $300,000 fines)
Be the Kansas voters Liberal or Conservative, it is important for both sides that if state legislation will not tolerate working with this situation that it is up to its voters to decide. And this petition is for Kansas to hold a voter ballot on this current situation
