It has been revealed that at least one of the Boston bombing suspects had been receiving welfare benefits before he carried out the attack. This same brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, had been previously interviewed by authorities due to suspicion of his involvement in terror related activities.
If a person is on one of the lists the federal or state authorities use to track potential terrorists, is it wise to also potentially fund their activities with taxpayer money in the form of entitlements?
Removing state and federal aid from these individuals could either encourage them to seek funds through criminal channels that could be tracked by authorities, potentially leading to an arrest. Or in the case of the self-radicalized, it might cause them to cease their pernicious activities altogether.
