Marijuana is a safe drug that relieves tension and has other medicinal uses. Legal drugs such as nicotine (in cigarettes), and alcohol cause more deaths than marijuana does. Heck, the flu kills more people than marijuana.
Surveys have shown that if marijuana were to be legalized, it could bring in billions of dollars in tax money. That money could go to reducing our national debt, or even improving federal programs, such as, education or even social security.
People say that American jails are over-populated. Well, if marijuana was legalized then we wouldn't be sentencing people for petty crimes that harm nobody. The United States crime rated would be affected, as it would drop, and our country would be seen in a better light, globally.
