Encourage the repeal of the 17th amendment, and modify the original provision to ensure adequate state representation.

This petition acknowledges that direct election of state Senators provides those public servants with an environment with no consequences, where they are not obligated to represent their state in the Federal government in any meaningful fashion. By encouraging a repeal of the 17th amendment, and modifying the original but flawed system to ensure that each state is always represented in congress, awareness can be raised about the lack of adequate representation of state sovereignty, and in extension, the will of the people.
