Encourage the rescheduling of Cannabis Sativa, Marijuana, to a Schedule 4 drug under the Controlled Substances Act.

Created by N.W. on July 17, 2012

The FDA and DEA have incorrectly classified Cannabis Sativa a.k.a. Marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug insinuating that it has a potential for High Abuse, No Recognized Medical Use and a potential to Impact Public Safety. Scientific evidence has proven this incorrect!

Many States across the United States have decriminalized Cannabis for Medical Use giving compassionate care for patients who are sufferring from chronic pain, wasting disorders and other conditions.

The Industrial value of the Hemp plant is also important.

For the reasons above, we urge you change the classification of Cannabis Sativa from a Schedule 1 Drug, which is used as an excuse to put minorities in prison, to a Schedule 4 Drug where it belongs as a plant w/ Limited Abuse, High Medical Utility, Limited Dependence.
