Breed-specific legislation (BSL) is a law that bans OR restricts certain types of dogs based on their appearance, usually because they are perceived as “dangerous” breeds or types of dogs.
Breed-specific legislation is spreading through our country and when passed the breed may or may not be grandfathered in and even if they are you will be required to have your dog "fixed". In cities like Denver, Colorado with their pitbull ban it doesn't even need to be a pitbull just look like one, under which thousands of dogs have been killed. There is no evidence that BSL has reduced injury or death by violent dogs and it needs to be stopped and replaced with laws that more strictly enforce responsible ownership.
