Encourage the States to prohibit the practice of collateral consequences, civil death, and disenfranchisement

Created by B.N. on January 01, 2015

People from all walks of life sometimes make mistakes, senators, 1st ladies, star athletes, actors, down to the average citizen have had accidents where a law was broken and someone lost their life. The average citizen not only receives a direct punishment but also receives what are referred to as collateral consequences, civil death, and disenfranchisement. There are thousands if not millions of first time one time felons that are denied employment by companies and corporations who themselves have multiple convictions for fraud, a crime of moral turpitude. Re-examine the 14th amendment, create a Congressional Certificate of Rehabilitation recognized by all States and corporations for employment and licenses. Save the harsh treatment for those that have chosen a life of crime. Forgiveness.
