We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Encourage states to teach the youth of America more practical skills in school that are applicable in the real world.

Created by C.A. on September 01, 2016

Many states that have a public school system fail to teach the youth of America proper and practical skills. Of course subjects such as math, science, history and English are important. However, much of the curriculum and information taught even in these subjects, become obsolete once a student is out of high school and on their own. Many students that make it through high school don't know how to pay taxes or even apply for a job and the quadratic formula nor the mitochondria they spent semesters learning about isn't going to save them. The public education system is failing the youth and therefore the next generation of America by failing to teach practical and applicable skills to students.
