Encourage the Supreme Court to allow its public proceedings to be televised.

Created by N.B. on June 30, 2015

The Supreme Court has a longstanding ban on television cameras and audio recording devices in its courtroom. Audio recordings of Supreme Court hearings are made available days, sometimes months after-the fact; video recordings and live broadcasts of any kind are completely forbidden.

This restriction is an unnecessary, anachronistic impediment to operation of our free press, and thus, our democracy itself. We petition the Obama Administration to encourage the Supreme Court to open up its doors and let the American people come inside.
