Encourage Term Limits. No member of Congress should serve more than 12 years.

Created by G.J. on September 22, 2011

No member of Congress should be allowed to serve more than 12 years. This should reduce the influence of money on democracy if the investment that lobbyists make in politicians is for a shorter period of time. It also frees up members of Congress not to have to raise money in their last term, and perhaps do something at that point dictated by their constituents or their conscience. Yes, it will mean that some great politicians exit the stage early, but they are the minority. All in, it should ameliorate some of the tension between the parties, and help to strengthen our democracy.
