Encourage an understanding between both political parties and end the rabid in-fighting that is tearing the people apart

I would like to call for a sort of truce between the various members of political parties, Republican and Democrat and others, to take a look at this once great country and try to make life better. Over the years, we have been seeing a schism. Neighbor fights neighbor over a variety of topics. People are afraid to say their opinion because another will react in a very hostile manner. In this land of the free, I feel we are starting to lose our freedom, not because of any law, but because of our own minds. Do we really want to live in an America where we have these freedoms but are too afraid to exercise them? Therefore, I beg our leaders to set the example, show the people that even though we have different ideas, that we can coexist without fear of retribution. There is not much time.
