Encourage the U.S. Congress to offer the Mexican Government military support in attacking the drug cartels

We would like the Obama Administration to influence the U.S. Congress to offer military support to the Mexican Government for the purpose of attacking and disbanding the drug cartels in Mexico at a 50/50 cost to each country. We believe if this effort was pursued it would be the first major victory in a long drawn out war on drugs that has so far been ineffective. The reasons for doing so are the following:The cartels power has grown to a point that the Mexican government cannot take them on alone, many Mexicans and Americans live in fear for their lives because of these criminal organizations, the drugs being transported ruin lives, by the time these drugs reach the U.S. they dwindle to small densities that are difficult to catch, attacking the heads of drug trafficking is most effective
