The government of Russia has recently instituted laws that make LGBT people criminals-If you appear to be gay, promote a gay lifestyle or tolerance thereof, you can be arrested, imprisoned, and fined even if you're a citizen of another country visiting. Some are suggesting a boycott of the Olympics taking place in Sochi Russia in 2014. Our community has inspired change by standing together in public with our allies - to show who we are and that we are not afraid. The US Government should encourage members of the US Olympic Team and members of other countries who support LGBT Rights to carry a rainbow flag during the heavily televised Opening Ceremonies of the 2014 Winter Olympics. This event is seen around the world. Show the Russian government that homophobia and hate will not be accepted
