The US National Team has consistently changed home uniforms. From 2000-2013 there have been a total of 7 different home uniforms, each with a radically different design.
The great soccer nations of the world: Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Germany, all have very identifiable soccer uniforms. As America is entering the upper realms of world soccer we too should have an identifiable national image.
As such the USSF should rule that all home uniforms must be similar in design to the kit worn by the 1950 USMNT. This uniform featured a white shirt with a red sash from the right shoulder to the left waist and blue shorts.
These should be the requirements by which all future kit makes must abide. Any other design choices (socks, collars, etc) as well as 2nd and 3rd kits are left to the manufacturer.
