Military combat weapons, formerly only used in SWAT operations, have fed the rise of an epidemic of police overreach and excessive use of force that has plagued our country for several decades and can only be characterized by a rational person as a means of creating a police state. As Congress passed several laws that erode the freedoms of United States citizens since 9/11/01, taken our country into UNJUST and UNPROVOKED WARS, this issue has been a slap in the face to the American People who have grenades tossed at children in small scale drug busts, elderly and mentally disabled shot down in cold blood by police for simple non-compliance, and a litany of other abuses that embarrass this country among Western nations, painfully evident and seen by all who care to look.
