This petition seeks to end the two party system by using proportional representation in Congress, which is the worldwide standard. Basically, the parties will get the same percentage of seats in Congress as votes they did during the election. This will enable the formation of multiple parties that actually have a chance of being elected, and improve American democracy. The AV system is a similar system used to elect one individual, in which voters present a ranked list of candidates. Both are used internationally, and are widely accepted as the most democratic method of election.
