For many years, it has been extremely difficult, if not highly illegal, for Americans to import the vehicles less than 25 years old from other countries. There should be no reason why an American citizen cannot import what he or she wants to drive. Our Canadian & Mexican neighbors, on the other hand, have no such restriction. Canadians can import vehicles 15 years old & older from Japan, as long as they can be modified to conform to Canadian standards.
