The abuse that is happening is towards the illegal aliens that have entered the United States.
Before when an undocumented person was found they were deported back to their country. Now they are kept in prisons, in a way to make money.
The keeping of the immigrants is helping the private prison industry to thrive and by doing this they put the undocumented people in poor conditions for long periods of time.
Barring people up is not a good image for the land of the free.
