Federal employees dedicate their lives to the service of others. Many are veterans who have also sacrificed for their country. Many serve in the field protecting and serving the American public. They are protecting our borders (CBP, ICE, Border Patrol), serve as emergency responders (Forest Service, FEMA, Coast Guard), and protect our food and health (FDA, Agriculture), just to name a few of the many services they provide.
The actions of the administration and congress in freezing their pay and publicly deriding them in the press are shameful and show a complete lack of appreciation and respect for all that they do. The very least the government can do is provide adequate compensation for their often times dangerous and ardous missions.
