End the Abusive Practice of not allowing people to park within 15 feet of a Fire Hydrant

Created by D.K. on December 04, 2013

The average Fire Hydrant is used very infrequently on a residential street and on the rare occasion that it is needed the Fire Truck NEVER parks neatly in the 30 foot space that is left for them- they always Double Park anyway. A 10 foot space (5 feet on each side of the hydrant) is more than adequate to access the hydrant on the rare occasion that it may be needed. This would help alleviate the major parking problems in NYC that citizens suffer with every day
