Race based admission policies reward applicants an academic position, not based on hard work and merit, but the color of skin. It sends a message to minorities that hard work and dedication are not required to compete for college admissions because the color of their skin will gain them acceptance in the name of diversity. It also sends a message to the majority that no matter how hard they work to compete to gain admissions to a college the color of their skin is the deciding factor for acceptance. Also, race based admissions uses federal grants to set people up for failure by funding unqualified students who can't complete the work and drop out before earning a degree, while taking away academic opportunities for those who can succeed and earn a diploma.
