The demographics of the United States have changed substantially since affirmative action was first put into place. It is unfair to give preference to people of color and women over white males based simply on race and gender. Not ending affirmative action is inherently racist because it assumes that people of color and women cannot achieve success on their own, and the the citizens and institutions of the United States are too racist to choose the most qualified people for the position without taking race and gender into account.
When college scholarships and things of this nature say, "minorities and women only," it is the same as saying "white males need not apply."
This goal of this petition is to ultimately eliminate affirmative action in the United States.
