End Agricultural Subsidies: Save $20 Billion, Reduce Drug Crops, Reduce Illegal Immigration, Increase American Wages

Created by C.S. on September 24, 2011

Ag. subsidies are more dangerous for our nation than foreign food imports.

Artificially cheap food is too cheap for foreign (ex: Mexican) farmers to compete with. Some farmers convert from grains to illegal crops, some others illegally come to America. Illegal immigrants bust unions when they cannot join them, which then lowers all American wages and reduces the middle class.

Artificially cheap food makes an abundance of meat (heart disease), corn syrup (diabetes), and empty calories (obesity). Artificially cheap food has grown America's health crisis.

Artificially cheap corn refines into artificially cheap ethanol, making it harder for other green energy sources to compete.

Ag. subsidies directly cost $20 B/y alone. The indirect health and economic costs are incalculable. End them.
