Why is affirmative action bad? When you look at it without bias, it is essentially one race getting special treatment over others because the color of their skin.
When a person is hired due to affirmative action, this invariably means another person is not hired, which is ultimately due to their race.
Other racial groups, such as African Americans, may have higher percentages of unemployed...But racial groups like Caucasians, have more poor than the entire African American population of the USA combined.
Affirmative action effectively disparages Caucasian Americans by intentionally hiring others over them, regardless of who is more qualified. That is not equality, that is inequality in another racial groups favor.
The good of the many outweigh the need of the few.
