On Feb. 24, 2014 Uganda's President signed into law a bill designed to subjugate and imprison that country's minority GLBT population. This harsh new measure can result in a person being imprisoned for life in some circumstances, just for being as they are born into the world.
President Obama has declared this new law to be "abhorrent" and called for its repeal. In response, Uganda's President stated that the US is engaging in "social imperialism" by pressuring them to not enact legislation that tramples basic human rights. He then made bizzare and untruthful claims about the LGBT population in an attempt to justify his actions.
Our path is clear: Cease all financial aid in any form to the country of Uganda. If they refuse our morals and ideas, they also refuse our money.
