Uganda's Parliament has passed an anti-homosexuality bill that would take drastic measures to "wipe out" lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered (LGBT) people from the country. Among the provisions called for in this law would be life imprisonment for LGBT people. President Obama must demand that either they retract this law and provide all citizens with equal rights or lose any and all foreign aid to the Country of Uganda. Development assistance to Uganda rose to $1.1 billion for on-budget and off-budget aid in the financial year 2012/13, up from $743 million last year. The Pentagon’s close ties with the Ugandan military — comprised of 120 U.S. advisers and $100 million worth of training, weapons and supplies since 2011.
