end all subsidies for ethanol production.

Created by J.H. on September 22, 2011

We believe that federal subsidies for ethanol production have a harmful effect on the good of the American people and on the good of the world population as a whole. Ethanol subsidies distort the price of corn (by increasing it dramatically), which thus increases the price of many food products. In economic times such as these, the impact of increased food prices is felt by almost every American family. The citizens of the United States should not have to pay higher prices for corn-based food products so that corn farmers can reap the undeserved benefits of federal subsidies. Additionally, much poorer regions of the world suffer from higher food prices, and there have been thousands of deaths because of increased food prices due to U.S. federal ethanol subsidies. This needs to stop.
