End all U.S. government aid to Uganda

In light of President Museveni's signing of anti-gay legislation in Uganda, and given his insistence that he does not need aid from the West, we request that all U.S. government aid to Uganda, in whatever form, be terminated immediately. If President Putin cares to step in, let him. Neither the old Soviet Union nor the United States ever got much out of their aid to African governments in Cold War days, and we see no reason to believe the situation has changed. This petition is not directed at non-government aid aimed directly at improving the welfare of the Ugandan people, but only at assistance from the U.S. government.
