The President and his family have embarked on a series of very expensive vacations in the course of his presidency. This is beyond the scope of good conscience in a time when many Americans are struggling with the longest economic downturn in living history. With this petition, we demand one of two options:
1) The President and his family will refrain from all taxpayer-financed travel and vacations until the US has a balanced Federal budget, or
2) The President must personally pay for the total cost (to include travel and Secret Service protection) of any and all vacations he and his family take as long as the US does not have a balanced Federal budget.
The President should immediately stop forcing the average, struggling American taxpayer to fund his lavish lifestyle.
