When President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act for 2012 he commented that he felt the stipulations for indefinite detention of prisoners would not stand up in court. It's time to take these illegal violations of our Constitutional rights to due process and speedy trial out of our law books. Further the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay is a violation of both US law and international laws and treaties. President Obama promised to close this illegal camp but still has failed to do so. Its time to respect the rights and freedoms our forefathers guaranteed us in the Constitution instead of allowing for the criminal treatment of the accused.
