This petition is here to bring attention to the fact that homosexual men are still unable to donate blood in our country, despite the fact that blood is tested for diseases anyways. Mexico has recently removed their ban on gay blood donations, why hasn't the US? It should be a restriction/ban towards promiscuous individuals with unsafe sexual practices, not a blanket ban on gay men. All this ban is, is a discriminatory, out-of-date policy from the time when HIV was running rampant through the homosexual community. There are continual stories of a 'blood shortage', well that can be helped if you allow gay men to finally donate!
