End the bi-annual time change

Created by S.R. on February 26, 2016

Changing the clocks for Daylight Saving Time is an outdated ritual in our modern time.

Most people do not stop working, shopping, or enjoying themselves after the sun has gone down. The most cited reason for maintaining DST, energy savings, does not make logical sense. The amount of daylight remains the same no matter what the clock shows.

Studies have shown that changing the clocks leads to health problems and dangers; including increased heart attack and vehicular accidents. This practice results in hundreds of thousands of hours of lost productivity in workplaces across the country. About eight months out of the year is spent on DST, and it just makes sense to extend it through the final four months.

Please stop the clock changing and consider making DST year round or eliminate it.
