We cannot in good conscience allow the United States to send billions of dollars of aid to Uganda, a nation that imprisons and murders people for their sexual orientation.
The Ugandan parliament passed the dreaded Anti-Homosexuality Bill – making homosexuality illegal. The Penal Code provides for penalties of up to seven years in prison for "attempts," and up to life imprisonment for "acts against the order of nature."
This political climate justifies heinous acts of violence perpetrated by the Ugandans against their own people. They are literally burning people alive for being gay or lesbian, and there are no repercussions for it.
We cannot fund these inhumane and criminal acts any more. We must cut foreign aid to Uganda, now!
