Breed-specific legislation (BSL) is the banning or restriction of specific breeds of dogs considered “dangerous” breeds, such as pit bull breeds, Rottweilers and German shepherds. Many states, counties and municipal governments are turning to legislation that targets specific breeds as an answer to dog attacks. (source: American Humane Society)
Breed-specific legislation can be cruel to the families of dog owners, and to the dogs themselves. Dogs are sometimes removed from households and put down for no reason other than their breed. Breed-Specific Legislation is something that needs to be prevented.
