End the Bureau of Land Management's Roundups of Our National Heritage: Wild Horse and Burrow Herds in the West.

Created by B.G. on November 06, 2013

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is spending our tax dollars to round up wild horse and burrow herds and put them into holding facilities.

Helicopters stampede the terrorized animals, including foals. Many animals, especially the young and old are killed or maimed in the process, and those that survive are herded into holding pens where more injuries and deaths occur.

Why is this happening? Supposedly to manage the size of the herds and conserve the land, however, at the same time the BLM allows cattlemen to graze their herds on that same land. Some of the animals are sold to "kill" buyers who send them to slaughter in Mexico.

This despite a National Academy of Science study that determined the roundups are unnecessary and inefficient management. The reason? Follow the $$$$$
