End Child Slavery

There are an estimated 27 million children being forced into slavery in the world today. In America, slavery was abolished in 1865. Unfortunately, children in Africa are not safe from this crime. Starving families in Africa can't afford food for their families, so they sell their children for as little as $20 a year. Girls as young as five are sold as domestic servants, bread bakers, and even prostitutes. Boys are sold as field workers, cart pushers, and scavengers in dangerous, abandoned gold mines. Children are deprived of schooling and stripped of their basic freedoms. Companies like Hershey’s, Victoria’s Secret, Disney, Nike, and Forever 21 all use child slaves for cheap labor. We ask Mr. Obama to maintain the child labor policies and monitor big companies that use child slavery.
