In case you didn't know, 43 to 70% of the cocoa beans that are used to make the chocolate we eat come from farms in Africa. At those farms are young boys, ages 9 to 16, that were either sold or tricked into slavery. As you can probably imagine, these boys work under very poor work conditions. Before cutting the cocoa beans down from trees and cutting them open, the slaves spray them with insecticides, most of the time without any protection. The sad part is companies such as Nestle and Hersheys know about this.
