Many consider SOPA and ACTA not to be prevalent threats anymore, however another bill, CISPA, is more of a threat than both of those bills ever were.
During a conference call geared towards digital reporters, representatives for the bill claimed that the bill "respects privacy and civil liberty." This unfortunately, is not the case in the slightest. The bill's text is filled with numerous broad definitions and obscure phrasing that create a very scary potential for multiple unintended consequences.
If this bill is simply overlooked by the public, even if it is not passed, it will create an unfavorable scenario in which it is deemed socially and politically acceptable for such legislation to be created in the future.
