End the Civil War: Lead to abolish the Electoral College. By its winner-take all-nature, it pits state against state!

Created by L.H. on November 14, 2012

This can only be pushed by a President who will never run again--it would die politically. Elections just continue the divisive red state versus blue state Civil War. The EC suppresses votes as many blue voters in red states and vice-versa do not vote--they feel their votes won't matter anyway. Abolishing the EC would end campaigns focused primarily on swing states and allow national campaigns. This would reduce people feeling left out when their state loses--a leading cause of these silly succession petitions. Fraud would be reduced as campaigns would not focus on rajor-thin victories in swing states. The Civil War changed The United States ARE to The United States IS! This remains: Change fifty separate state elections ARE electing a POTUS to one national election IS electing a POTUS!
