The island of Puerto Rico has been under colonial rule for over a century; it is time for change. They have been saying the same thing over and over for years "We are giving the people of Puerto Rico the tools they need to build their future". Translation: "We intend to own you forever.." Puerto Rico has been waiting and we are not satisfied. Obama promised to the address the political situation but hasn't really addressed anything. We can have an independent Puerto Rico with strong US ties and free trade. The US provides financial support to many free nations so why not us? We have fought in all US wars and served in Congress, Washington, the Supreme Court, etc. The time for change is now Mr. President. We call for a peaceful transition to the independent Republic of Puerto Rico. ~Freedom
