End Columbus Day!

Created by J.S. on October 11, 2011

Create A Bill To Repeal The Two Acts Of Congress That Created "Columbus Day" and no longer issue a presidential proclamation of Columbus Day.

April 30, 1934 (48 Stat. 657), and an Act of June 28, 1968 (82 Stat. 250) both recognize a non-American who genocidally exterminated the Taino People. This man did nothing to further liberty or freedom among humanity. He instead did the reverse. America does not need to recognize such a person.

Congress can choose instead to recognize the Explorers, Inventors, or Scientists but no longer give Columbus, by many accounts an evil man, such a high honor.
