An End To Columbus Day

I, Rodney JeanBaptiste feel that the Federal Holiday (Columbus Day) should be abolish, due to the fact that we the people are celebrating A man who committed the act of GENOCIDE, in the search for gold. In elementary school, we was taught that Christopher Columbus discovered America and was the first person to set foot on this country but later discovered that the Indians were the first group of people who already occupied this land. Columbus allowed TERRORISM, SEXUAL BATTERY OF MINORS, HUMAN TRAFFICKING and was CONDONING RAPE among women as A reward for those, exploits he sailed with who found golds as reward. I will speak for many victim of terrorism, rape and human trafficker and feel that such holiday should not be celebrated.
