Christopher Columbus oversaw many heinous against the native people he encountered. These acts include enslavement, human trafficking, torture, rape and mass murder. Many Americans have a skewed image of Columbus because he is celebrated with a Federal Holiday The United States Government should not honor someone who perpetrated the acts with a Federal Holiday.
