We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

End Columbus Day as a Holiday and instead instate a National Indigenous People's Day as a Federal Holiday.

Created by S.F. on October 10, 2016

Christopher Columbus is a historical figure synonymous with the exploitation of Indigenous people in America. The rape, murder, and unspeakable atrocities committed by this man and those who funded and served him do not deserve a day of honor in our country. To remain on the books as a Holiday is perpetuating the hurt and discriminatory practices that occur today. Let's start righting the wrongs of systemic racism and distance ourselves from everything Columbus and his thuggery stood for.
