Hello! My name is Tyler Pereira in the 8th Grade. Currently, I am fed up with this Common Core nonsense. This isn't just coming from the mind of myself, but my entire grade. I made a survey a few weeks back (from the moment of writing this) asking people if they want Common Core. 211 people said NO. When in math class, we are told to do tons of unnecessary, hard, and complicated procedures on basic math. If you were to use a different procedure, the answer was marked wrong. Why make it mandatory to use a more complicated route to solving a question if you get to the same answer? The Common Core Curriculum is also draining away the power of the teacher. It is almost always mandatory to teach these complicated methods in the classroom. These are some reasons why I want to end Common Core.
