end the common practice of military recruiters instructing candidates to lie about their medical condition.

It is currently common practice for US military recruiters, no doubt judged by their numbers, to instruct candidates to hide their full medical history from doctors during the initial physical, in order to avoid their disqualification. Even the slightest blip on the radar will cause a military doctor to disqualify a candidate. A ton of taxpayer dollars are wasted because soldiers are able to, and often do, later claim these prior ailments are disabilities, allowing them to collect a lot of extra money upon retirement. I've worked in defense, and the soldiers I've interacted with have all agreed that the majority of soldiers in the military, either to their detriment or unfair benefit, are all hiding something in their medical history. The system needs to be fixed now.
