Corporations have run Washington for far too long. The only way anything is accomplished presently is for corporate entities to throw obscene amounts of money at any politician willing to do their bidding. Oil spills, economic collapse, the ease with which anyone can obtain a gun and commit violent crimes, these are all things that can be fixed, flaws in the system which we can learn from. However, we, as a country, will continue to make the same mistakes because we the people are not the ones that pass the laws, nor are our votes. Government should uphold what its people believe to be just, and instead ours is merely a tool to enact policies subservient to corporate financial interests. Politicians should be paid by the people they serve, not the companies they are in bed with.
